I'm in Metuchen, New Jersey, staying with Kristy and Alex. I love it here, it's a really sweet little town - am seeing it properly now, after my fleeting two hour visit in January.

Kristy and I went for a three mile run this morning, which finishes off my schedule for this week. It felt good - it's a beautiful day today - completely cloudless sky and about 15 degrees. Perfect. Ran past some lovely clapboard houses - very American suburbia - and through Roosevelt park. Passed a few other runners who all smiled and said hello. Everyone is so friendly here.

Kristy made us both a chocolate-chip waffle ice-cream sandwich after. Well, we are in the States.

We're going down to Princeton tonight for a meal. Would love to stick around for a few more days, but looking forward to heading down to Austin tomorrow.

God I'm shagged. Been up till 2am these past four nights trying to finish all the interviews and editorial for the SXSW website before I go to America tomorrow. It's been really hard trying to fit in my training runs this week but have just about managed it. Still got another couple of hours of work ahead of me tonight though, and haven't even started packing yet.

5 miler tonight. Was ok. Hope to fit in another run while I'm in NJ before attempting a 10 miler when I get to Austin on Sunday - eek.
