The week got slightly better after the farce of Tuesday. The next night I went back to the gym and did 3.5k, and it still felt pretty hard but much better than the previous night. Then on Thursday, same again, well slightly longer (4k) and tried doing some faster bursts at around 11.5kph. This felt really bloody fast to me, while I was running. I know it isn't but it felt it. I wonder what it would be like to be that fit and strong - and be able to run at that pace the whole time. I can't even imagine it. I can only do short two minute bursts at a time.

Finally, today did 5k, and it felt ok. Everything's been on the treadmill this week due to the freezing weather. I am a wuss, no denying it.

I need to find a marathon training programme as I suppose I'll have to start following one in a few weeks time. I have the book The Non-Runners' Marathon Trainer which seems to have a pretty good plan in it, so I'll probably just follow that. It's only sixteen weeks long though, doesn't seem very long.
